A Special Dress

I have been so busy this week and I am so happy. I was with my boss with a very special customer. She is so special but I can not tell anyone. She is having a special dress made and my boss is making it and I am helping with the marking and cutting because it has to be perfect. I am so excited but it is a big, big secret so I can not tell anyone. Normally when I mark out a pattern I am paid one hundred baht but for this job my boss is paying me one thousand baht. We have already done it three times but each time we have had to start again and we have had to throw away what we had done. The dress is going to be made of very expensive silk and it is hard to work with and the design is a mixture of Thai and modern and is really something very special. It is almost done and on Monday we go for a fitting and I am very excited about that. You know, I think all Thai people will see the dress that I helped make on television.

Anne phoned me yesterday and asked if I wanted to go to Gullivers tomorrow and I said yes but that I was a bit worried that my stalker might come up to me again. I said I would rather go to the Hard Rock Café and Anne said she would try to think of somewhere else that might be a good place to meet farangs. She said there are quite a few bars where girls can find farangs with money and that we didn’t have to go to Gullivers. Really, I think I might start going out more than once a week. Even if I get three thousand baht it is not a lot. I have not bought my iPhone yet because I do not have enough money. If I can get three thousand baht to go with a farang and I go twice a week that will mean I will earn twenty-four thousand baht every month. I do not think Anne wants to go out twice a week and I am not sure that I am brave enough to go out on my own. I didn’t want to tell Anne that because then she might think that I am using her, but what I really want is to find someone else I can go out with.

I think what I really need is for someone to take care of me. Not like a husband because I do not want to get married yet, but it would be perfect if I could be a mia noi. A mia noi is like a second wife. A lot of rich men in Thailand have mia nois. If I was a mia noi I would get a lot of money and I would not have to go to places like Gullivers. But I am not sure how I can be a mia noi. I do not think that farangs have mia nois. What I really want is to find a farang who does not live in Thailand but who can send me money to take care of me, but I think that is just a dream. Maybe if I wish really hard I will meet a man like that on Saturday.
